The Practice
Every Segal tutor has scored in the 99th percentile of the exam they teach, holds degrees from the institutions our families aspire to, and has spent a decade or more teaching one student at a time.
We hire slowly and rarely. A Segal tutor must demonstrate three things before meeting a student: a verified top-percentile score on the exam they teach, a sustained record of moving students at the score ranges we serve, and the temperament to hold a demanding standard without theatrics. Credentials earn an interview; a teaching audition earns the position. Fewer than one in twenty applicants joins the practice.

SAT Math & Evidence-Based Reading
Leads our SAT practice. Known for rebuilding a student's mathematical reasoning from first principles rather than teaching tricks — and for spotting the three recurring errors that account for most lost points.
ACT Pacing & Science Reasoning
A former competition mathematician who treats the ACT as an exercise in tempo. Students describe the transformation the same way: the test slows down.
GRE Quant & Verbal for Doctoral Applicants
Works primarily with Ph.D. and quantitative master's applicants. Precise, demanding, and unusually good at diagnosing why a strong student has plateaued.
GMAT Focus Edition & M7 MBA Strategy
Spent five years in consulting before returning to teaching. Coaches the GMAT as a decision-making exam and aligns every study plan with the client's application timeline.
